If you go about proclaiming how much of a hedonist playboy you are online, I guarantee 100% that you will get cucked trad cons telling you that YOU, single-handedly, are responsible for the downfall of Western Civilisation™.

The reason?

Because you are a hedonist™ and your behaviour is causing the very fabric of civilised Western society to be torn apart and shredded.

What all of this comes down to, of course, is the nuclear family unit. Trad cons—who are mainly young-ish (in their 30s at most) and who don’t haver very much experience of life, seem to think that the nuclear family is the root of all virtue. That if we just turned the clock back to the good old 1950s and started building nuclear families again—with strong, patriarchal™ bearded men rearing families then everything would work out just fine.

I’m sorry, but this bunch of bullshit stinks to high heaven.

For one thing, it is completely and utterly ridiculous to claim that any ‘decline’ has been caused solely by guys having sex with hot girls.

It is also, by the way, erroneous to say that ‘Western Civilisation’ is in decline anyway. In fact, right now is the best time to have been alive on this planet ever.

Consider the following, from Enlightenment Now by Stephen Pinker:

• There are now 103 democratic nations as opposed to 12 during the fascist uprisings of the 1920a
• Global data shows war a lot less rampant than previously
• In 1820, nearly 90% of the world was in extreme poverty. Huge growth has meant that world income has tripled three times since and continues to do so. 
• Life expectancy is now the highest it’s ever been. 

Western civilisation’s decline has been seriously overstated by bedwetters who spend too much time on the internet and not enough time in the real world.

But regardless, even if it could be stated definitively that Western Civilisation was / is in decline (whatever that really looks like) it’s a fallacy of the highest order to place the blame at the door of players.

The fact is that societies are not static but fluid—this has always been the case since the dawn of time. And to think that a single aspect of human behaviour is enough to bring about downfall is naive beyond belief.

You want a list of civilisations that no longer exist? Here you go:

• The Maya
• Indus
• Anasazi
• Cahokia
• Easter Island
• Greenland’s vikings

The fact of the matter is that human civilisation is in a constant state of flux. Is anyone seriously saying that the world is a worse place because the Maya are no longer a dominant society? I doubt it.

The reasons why societies grow, decline or mutate are many and varied. There are huge threads of interlinking causes and effects that historians and other academics argue over ad infinitum. 

To place the blame for a purported decline in Western Civilisation™ at the door of players is reductive and stupid. 

Hedonism

However, some might argue that the playboy is a symptom of decline—and that his actions are making things worse.

Well, that’s one view, I suppose. But biological realities are what they are. We’re not going to get away from the fact that men want to fuck multiple women throughout their lives—and women are attracted to men who fuck multiple women.

It is what is it.

Now, you might counter argue by saying ‘but Troy! Civilisation has been founded on the basis of one man for one woman! If you fuck with that there’s going to be serious problems!’ 

Jeez. How to even start on this . . .

For one thing, there is no moral imperative for any of us to do anything ‘for the good of society’.

Well, I never signed a contract. Did you?

You might say that simply having been born is enough—that the contact is implicit.

‘We all want a better world don’t we, Troy?’

But here’s the problem: a contract, even the social contract, has no value if you have no choice but to consent to it.

In fact, if you want to live a life just for yourself, and to hell with society, then it’s absolutely within your rights to do so.

‘But if everyone acted like that the world would go to ruin!’ Perhaps—although since the experiment has never been tried you can’t say that with certainty. But even if that were the case, as we all know very well, it’s never going to happen.

I could publish eight billion copies of my new book on this subject and send them to everyone on the planet (which would be somewhat beyond my budget, but there you go) and still only a tiny minority of people would act on its message.

The reality is that most people are herd thinkers and will do what their parents did and what others around them do. And that’s fine. It’s entirely their prerogative and if it works out well for them then I’m happy.

But we’re not talking about ‘most people’ here—we’re talking about YOU. And you, as an individual, have an incredible opportunity to have the life of your dreams . . . if you want it.

Sex

Very few men—probably zero men, if they’re honest—ever laid in bed fantasising about having sex with the same woman for forty years, which is basically what a marriage is (or aspires to be).

Most men, if they’re honest, fantasise about sleeping with a string of extremely attractive young women. A string that has no end.

So why don’t they just do that instead of getting into monogamous marriages?

Well, in most cases it’s because they don’t believe it is possible, because they don’t think they would be able to do it, or because it is contrary to their societal programming.

And of course, men ‘fall in love’ too, even if in reality that means ‘fall in lust and get hitched before the oxytocin wears off.’

That’s up to them. But if you want to pursue a different lifestyle—the renegade playboy lifestyle—then that’s absolutely up to you. And the simple fact that most guys don’t do it means that there is less competition for you out there in the field.

As you get older—into your late 30s and 40s—you will find that there are fewer and fewer guys who are in good shape and well put-together who you have to compete with. The playing field is pretty much yours for the taking.

And I’ll tell you this for nothing too (if you’re a younger guy). Just because you get older doesn’t mean you desire sexual variety and less than you did as a 20 year-old. I can quite honestly say that right now, in my forties, I still like as varied a ‘diet’ as I did when I was 24.

Some things never change.

Statistically Irrelevant

And let’s face it, I am statistically irrelevant—and so are you. It really doesn’t matter a damn what I do or don’t do with my life. Whether I get married and have kids, or whether I live hedonistically forever. My individual actions will have absolutely zero effect on Western Civilisation™ and its decline or otherwise.

The truth is that the naysayers know this. They know damn well when they berate a guy for being a pleighboi that he can do what the hell he wants and the fact that he chooses to fuck around isn’t hurting anyone.

But trad cons use the ‘Western Civilisation™’ argument not because it has any connection with reality, but because it is an effective shaming tool.

Shame, you see, is perhaps the number one weapon that trad cons employ to try to exert control on  players. Their reasoning, whether conscious or not, is that the playboy will sit back and think ‘hell, they’re right! Maybe my lifestyle IS contributing to the downfall of Western Civilisation™! I wouldn’t want that. What would my mum think?’

And then he will change his ways.

Perhaps it works sometimes. But it shouldn’t, because once you see what a naked and crude attempt it is to use emotional manipulation to limit someone’s life choices, you should easily be able to ignore it.
