In case you missed it, I put out a brief playlist for June last week featuring a few light, summery dance tunes I’ve heard out and about recently.
This is largely the contents of my Shazam account from the last week or so. I suspect most of these tunes were played in Sunset Strip, with the exception of Firechild, which I think I heard elsewhere. Cola has been around for a while, but I like it and it fits the overall vibe. The Chicane track came out last year but Barbarella is a friend and it’s a great tune.
There’s nothing hear that will scare any of my underground Berlin DJ readers, but there is a certain potency in breezy electronica like this—played as it is in the bars and clubs and strip joints of Europe in summer—that I love.
Enjoy!
Track listing:
Solomon Grey – Firechild
Dan Balan – Hold On Love
Kattison & Parx – Sunrise
Camelphat & Elderbook – Cola
Chicane vs Barbarella – How Does Your House Work
